Come along and join us in the beautiful Arty Farty Studio and let your creativity soar this winter! Our workshops cater to all skill levels and cover a range of mediums, including Acrylic Painting, Gouache and Indian Ink, Indian Block Printing and of course we welcome Natalie Mclay back every month for a grand Willow Weaving session, take a look at what else you can weave with Natalie this coming year, not just those adorable Animal sculptures and baskets, Nat has now introduced garden obelisks and much more, its going to be a lot of fun. I am delighted to have Michelle from Mint Lettering joining us for some super modern Calligraphy workshops. I have always wanted to write my greeting cards in a beautiful script, so maybe now I have the chance. Watch this space! Felt and Dandy the Needle Felting King and Queen will be joining us throughout the year for some seriously good sessions, the workshops take a whole day, but who minds when you end up with the most amazing solid little life like sculptures. More workshops will of course be added throughout the year, so please make sure you register with the website so that we can keep you informed.

Come and join us with Alison and Nic of FELT & DANDY who will give us step by step instructions on
how to Needle Felt and complete the most adorable leaping Hare that you can either frame or pop straight onto your wall. Alison won Kirsty's Homemade Christmas with her clever Needle Felting, so we are always delighted that she can spare the time to come and tutor for us.

I am delighted to be hosting this creative workshop here at Arty Farty.
This informal, practical & inspirational workshop explores the wonderful art of writing with a nib and ink, but with a modern twist. The workshop begins with a few exercises to help understand and appreciate the slow flow of the nib and basic letter forms. You will then experiment writing your own postcards and gift tags with some festive wording.
There are more workshops to come from Mint Lettering over the next year.

Come along and enjoy a day designing and printing your own Tea Towels then either a Tote Bag or a cushion Cover
In the morning you will receive a demonstration how to use the blocks, followed by a practice and then given your own Tea Towel to work on. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to design and print either a Tote Bag or Cushion cover. Lots of blocks and beautiful colours that are sure to match in with your decor.

Willow Weaving Animal Sculpture, Basket Making and Garden Creations
Willow Weaving Animal Sculpture Saturdays 2023/24
Come along for the day, the last Saturday of the month and learn how to weave an Animal Sculpture in willow. Over the last few months we have had numerous, Herons, Hares a leaping, moon gazing., boxing and sitting, chickens galore, piggies, stags heads, rabbits, squirrels and lizards to name a few! You name it Natalie can probably help you make it!

Willow Basket Making Sundays 2023/24
On the last Sunday of the month we welcome you to our Willow Weaving Basket Workshop, shopping baskets/frame baskets, plant baskets. You will go home with a super basket. I have had the pleasure of working with Natalie Mclay of Trottiscliffe Willow for a few years, Natalie regularly has her work exhibited at Hampton Court and RHS shows. A great tutor who works well in groups, making sure each individual gets the right amount of help. You will have great fun, learn a new skill and take your own animal sculpture or basket home.

A smashing little workshop where you will explore the magic of using Gouache paint and Indian Ink to create some very dramatic paintings.
We start the day by learning how to draw a chicken step by step onto paper, then after applying gouache paint and indian ink we will go through the process of revealing a marvelous piece of work, In the afternoon, we will try the same technique onto a canvas using a different subject matter.

Discover your very own Inner artist and unleash your creativity on this expressive workshop.
Exploring the "inner Landscape" of some of our most popular countryside animals and birds.
On this workshop you will using hand drawn stencils from a template which we will then cut out with scissors, then apply our acrylic paints to create the "inner Landscape" of your chosen subject.

This creative workshop explores the art of brush lettering. Brush lettering emcompasses the principles of modern calligraphy but with a more relaxed lettering style using brush pens. You will learn how to hold the brush pen, become more comfortable with lettering strokes, then practice with lettering strokes. then practice writing words and phrases. You will leave with confidence to apply this style of writing to your personal stationary, gift tags and greeting cards.
All materials are provided for you to take home to continue this wonderful art at home.

Clay / Plaster Relief Workshops

Come along for the day and capture a little bit of early Spring onto your own Plaster Casts.
​
In the morning we will forage around the farm and garden looking for those early welcome signs of springtime. Back in the studio we will use clay to make our moulds then use plaster to make the relief. You will end up with 3 smaller plaster relief which can be put onto ribbons which will be provided, you will also have a larger plaster relief that you can mount onto a canvas, which is also provided.

For artists and students with lots or just some experience who are looking to paint on a weekly basis in beautiful surroundings with other likeminded people. Please bring your own materials.

Lessons for students who want to learn to paint. Materials provided for the first 2 lessons.
