Come along and join us in the light and airy Arty Farty Studio, situated in the beautiful Chilterns with views across the valley and farmland. Our workshops are very much inspired by nature and cater for all skill levels and cover a whole range of mediums. Welcome to our late Summer Autumn Schedule. We have had some wonderful Herbal Tea, Tincture and Tonics Workshops with Shelly Taylor, I look forward to working with her on some Winter Warmers for us all. I am also introducing another new workshop, we have a great potter coming along with her portable pottery wheels to teach us how to throw a pot, let me know if this is something you will be interested in. I am soooo, looking forward to this seasons Eco Printing Workshops, each year, its like Christmas come early when we unfurl our prints to see what nature has provided for us, I still have a few places left, so please book if you want to join in with this magical workshop. We look forward to seeing Natalie Mclay of Trottiscliffe Willow the last weekend of most months except July and August to create those fabulous Animal Sculptures, Baskets and Garden Obelisks. Every school holiday we get to be spoilt by Needle Felting Royalty Felt and Dandy, who give us hand held instruction in making delightful little Needle Felted Sculptures. Michelle of Mint Lettering has some lovely Modern Brush Calligraphy workshops coming up and how delighted am I to tell you that Lino Printer Sarah Weston is coming along to teach us all the wonderful art of Lino Printing.

Come and join us for a fabulous day creating your own unique linocut Christmas cards and tags. Print artist Sarah Weston will guide you step by step through this process to help you to print and hand finish your designs. This workshop is suitable for those who have little or no previous lino-cutting experience - you will have plenty of support and guidance. Along with cards, envelopes and tags that you create on the day, you will take away your lino blocks so you will be able to print your designs again at home.
During the day you will learn how to:
· use tools safely to carve your design
· mix, roll and apply ink
· hand burnish your image onto paper
· hand finish your printed cards with additional details​

Funky Animal Acrylic Painting Workshop

A real fun workshop perfect for beginners. You will be given step by step instructions how to draw a funky animal using a grid method, You will then be given instruction on how to paint the animal in acrylic layers to create a super dense painting. A painting that will be worth wall space when you get home.

By the end of the workshop after step by step instructions you will be taking home either a Fun Festive Character painted in acrylic onto an 80cm high board that you can bring out for Christmas. It will no doubt become a firm family favorite and tradition. Great for the grandkids whatever age.​​​

We are offering two sessions of this workshop on the same day .

An introduction to pottery and wheel work. On this workshop you will be instructed by potter Jane Sleator on how to throw a pot on the wheel, texture the surface using natural foliage from the farm and decorate with coloured underglazes. You’ll plan your texture designs and colour combinations on a separate tile, which will also be fired for you to keep.
In the three hours you’ll learn the basics of throwing on the wheel and master some simple decorating techniques. Your pot and tile will be left with us, ready to collect in approximately 2/3 weeks after they’re bisque and glaze fired.

Ever popular Needle Felting with Felt & Dandy, this workshop see's us constructing this adorable little Bullfinch sitting on a cotton reel. We will be shown how to carefully blended wools and given step by step instruction this little bird will be taken home to take pride and place .

After a forage on the farm, Shelley Ann Taylor a local and fully trained herbalist will introduce us to fresh and dried seasonal herbs that we can use to make Tea's, Tinctures, Tonics and Salves to add to our families natural medicine chest. This workshop changes for each season. Always a popular session.

£10 per session or £15 for the day including tea and Coffee.
For artists and students with lots or just some experience who are looking to paint on a weekly basis in beautiful surroundings with other like minded people. Please bring your own materials.
